The key difference between OUR lamb and the lamb you find in the grocery store:
- Our sheep are raised right here in upstate New York. NOT Australia, NOT New Zealand
- Our sheep are NEVER stuck in a barn or on parasite-infested, over-grazed pastures.
- Our sheep are never fed grain.
- They are moved frequently to fresh pasture where they get to each a large diversity of grasses & forbs (aka “weeds”)
They are protected from Coyotes by our livestock guardian dogs, Luna & Spike. (LGD = non-lethal deterrents that love to have their bellies rubbed)
We are currently raising Saint Croix parasite resistant sheep as well as Katahdins which are 50% St. Croix. They are a bit smaller than most meat breeds but also a lot easier to manage. Because we feed no grain and keep them away from barns and move them frequently, they are a lot lower maintenance than a lot of other breeds. This results in tender, clean tasting, toxin free roasts, chops, and ground lamb.
We are just getting started, so please check out our Meat Page for our actual inventory then contact us!
