This is my first full length talk exploring spiritual and practical concepts in the context of what I am variously calling my “Farm Church”, “Food Church”, “Church Farm” or what I like even better….. (wait for it) “Modern Musical Monastery.”
As Easter week unfolded, a butterfly got caught in the greenhouse and in the process of catching it and letting it go, a memory bubbled up from when I was very young and had a butterfly collection (which my cousins flushed down the toilet). And THAT reminded me of the hundreds of hours I spent wandering the 40 acres of Mrs. O’Rourke’s land across the street from the house I grew up in. And THAT led me to reflecting and articulating why my main passions in life, Music, physical and emotional healing, local, nutritionally dense food, sustainable and regenerative farming and Spirituality HAVE to be combined and integrated in a way that serves and honors something greater than myself.
