Hey my friends,
Moving the piglets out of their training pen, and the big pigs and sheep over to the leased farm in the last few weeks has inspired me to think about what it takes in our own minds to cross into new, greener pastures (even kicking and screaming sometimes).
MOST of us fear change. But the change is ALWAYS better isn’t it?
Even tho we hesitated. Even tho we put it off or backed away from it multiple times before we finally crossed over into something new and wonderful…
Growing up at Yorktown Presbyterian church, every Sunday we would say aloud this phrase from 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Even if you’ve been totally turned off to the whole church thing, the idea of personal transformation is FOUNDATIONAL to having hope in spite of all the struggles we encounter in our lives. The very THOUGHT that we can begin again with a clean slate is beautiful.
Turning the animals out into a lush diversified field of forage is a wonderful analogy or metaphor for the resistance and relief that we all seem to experience when facing significant change in our lives.
Open the fence. Walk through it. Grow. Heal. Transform. Repeat as necessary.
peace, love & groovyness!
– Mark
